Meadham Kirchhoff for Topshop

London based design duo Meadham Kirchhoff will be unveiling their fourth and biggest collection for high street store Topshop later this month.

The range named 'The Cherrys' is based around fictional band or gang of rebels (Cherry Cherie,Cherry Satanika,Cherry Pika and Cherry Blossom) and each cherry has their own signature style. According to Edward Meadham and Benjamin Kirchhoff, the overall aesthetic was inspired by Marilyn Manson and the spooky kids,Kembra Pfahler and glam rock.
Topshop's creative director Kate Phelan described the brand as original and inspiring and answered " ..their clothes are delicate and romantic with a perverse twist that keep the collections modern and innovative" when asked why she chose to collaborate with the duo.
The range contains 89 pieces ranging from accessories, shoes, clothing and outerwear, from £4-£750.
The collection stays true to Meadham Kirchhoff's signature wacky aesthetic and includes clashing patterns, pvc, shoes with faces and lots of cherries.

NARS Guy Bourdin collection

François Nars, founder of cosmetics giant, NARS has admired the work of French fashion photographer Guy Bourdin since discovering his images on the pages of Vogue Paris and Harper's Bazaar as a child. This Autumn he has created a complete collection inspired by his work.
The company have been influenced by Bourdin's most iconic imagery and have taken the aesthetic and signature bright colours and translated them into vibrant blushes, lipsticks, polishes and shadows.
"It was only a matter of time before I created an entire collection around him and his work," says Nars. "I always dreamed about this. Boudin's influence is everywhere in my life; it's in the DNA of Nars."
Here's some of Guy Bourdin's photography..
Another element Nars wanted to take from Bourdin was his rebellious streak. His work was highly controversial and he was known for pushing the boundaries of fashion photography. Francois Nars wanted to bring this to the collection and let women know"there are no rules." Nars have released the collection in the run up to the Christmas party season, as it's the perfect time for women to be adventurous with makeup and try something new.
NARS Guy Bourdin collection starts at £14.50 and is available from Selfridges.

Suits you!

Downton Collection, New Look.

The british high street is now thriving with tailoring for men. The affordable price tags mean you don't have to substitute dapper style for a bargain. One to look out for is New Look, which released it's Downton Collection, featuring jackets from just £50 and trousers from £18, meaning you can get a suit for a little as £68.The collection is inspired by the 1920's and has taken elements of style from Downton Abbey.  Swedish tailoring brand Tiger has recently opened their new store in Picadilly, with  seventeen year old model and son of Jude Law, Rafferty Law, as their poster boy, Tiger of Sweden described him as 'The Rebel' and believe his rock and roll spirit and slim cut tailoring he sports in the film, embodies the new London look which Tiger have now adopted. The brand have created a one minute film entitled 'A Different Cut' to promote the opening of their new store.

Stella McCartney X Goop

Gwyneth Paltrow's has teamed up with British fashion designer Stella McCartney for their first collaboration, available exclusively on Gwyneth's lifestyle website 'Goop'. The Stella McCartney X Goop collection launched on September 12. This collaboration is the latest in a series of fashion partnerships Paltrow has struck up for her site, previous designers include, Rag & Bone,Cynthia Rowley and Alexandra Von Furstenberg.
The collection contains only 6 items making it more of a capsule collection.Stella McCartney has explained that they wanted to create investment pieces. The outcome is designs that are timeless and classic, the pieces are effortless and Stella believes they reflect Gwyneth's style, it's a big reflection on her and they decided they would create a small timeless collection that you'd want to leave to your daughter.
To celebrate the collection the pair thew an English Garden Party in the Hamptons, as you do. Complete with lawn games, a jazz band, british food and drink such as guinness, and mini fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding as well as a guest list including, Paul McCartney, Cameron Diaz,Cynthia Rowley,Rachel Zoe and Sarah Jessica Parker.
The collection definitely is understated and classic. Two of the six pieces are bags, one a clutch and one beautiful shoulder bag, there's also a tailored black wool blazer, a charcoal jumpsuit, black staple jeans with zip detail, and a pair flattering, loose fit black wool trousers. The collection is timeless with modern twists, the shoulder bag unfolds "like origami" into a sleek clutch, and the jeans are not denim but a deep blue velvet, that you don't notice at first glance, a perfect twist on the black jean. I would quite like the Beckett shoulder bag but at $1,230.00 it's not really in my price range.. one for the wish list!
